 |  | | Laura Galt was born in Trinidad in October 1968. The first born of four children, Laura learned early the responsibilities of being a “leader”. Born to a Barbadian mother she frequently travelled to Barbados while growing up and got an early taste of the tourism industry. She was educated at Naparima Girls High School in San Fernando, Trinidad where she received nine O ’Level passes including three distinctions. She then completed her first year of A ’Levels at St. Stephens College attaining passes in History, Geography and Economics. | Laura then moved with her family to Barbados in 1986 and was exposed immediately to the restaurant and entertainment business. Over the next seventeen years she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience working in various hotels managing restaurants.
Laura took up the position of General Manager at Lucky Horseshoe in November 2003 and in September 2004 was asked to manage their second location in Warrens. With Laura’s dedication to quality and continued growth, Lucky Horseshoe is sure to be around for many years to come. | | | |  |  | DEBRA WALKER OPERATIONS MANAGER LUCKY HORSEHOE STEAKHOUSE ,WARRENS Debra Walker was born in the parish of St.Peter on April 24th 196…the second of five children. Debra attended St.Leonards school and from an early age was an avid sports fan with a keen interest in athletics. She was actually Victrix Ludorum for 3 years while at St. Leonards school. | Debra loves cats and collecting key rings and also enjoys listening to the music of Luthor Vandros and local sensation Krosfyah. She can also be seen taking an early morning walk to “start the day right” as she always says.
Debra’s working career started at the National Conservation Commission as a clerical officer. She later became a tour guide at the Harrison’s Cave where she gained experience in customer service and her first taste of the Tourism Industry. She then moved on to the Barbados Agricultural Management Corporation where she worked in the accounting department. When the opportunity to work as a part-time Hostess at the Lucky Horseshoe came up in 1998, Debra jumped at the chance to get back into the hospitality field that she had grown to love. When Lucky Horseshoe Warrens was born, Debra enthusiastically accepted the position as Operations Manager. Since its opening in September 2004 she has shown her team that with an outgoing personality and a determination to succeed by working hard …the sky is the limit. | | | |  |  | KAREN MATTHEWS OPERATIONS MANAGER LUCKY HORSEHOE STEAKHOUSE ,WORTHING Suzanne Karen Matthews was born in September 1973, the last of three children. Karen was educated at St.Winnifred’s Primary School and then Foundation Secondary School. She started her work career as a Receptionist/Clerk at Cooper’s & Lybrand in 1989 and in 2000 accepted the position of Duty Manager at the Lucky Horseshoe Steakhouse in Worthing. | This was a new career move for Karen but she willingly took up the challenge. In 2005 Karen was promoted to Operations Manager of the Lucky Horseshoe Worthing location. In this position she handles the day to day running of the business. In her spare time Karen enjoys a good movie, swimming or hanging out with friends. She also loves spending time with her nephews and nieces. With her fortitude to succeed, Lucky Horseshoe is sure to flourish through the years. |
